The problems I have with the WTS: shunning...too many meetings...repetition of material...the name "Jehovah"...baptising of minors...disfellowshipping of minors or anyone who does not wish to remain in the congregation...the translation of the "New World Translation"...timeslips for service hours...young children being called ministers...the constant reminder of "The Faithful and Discreet Slave"(who make themselves more important than Jesus)...all the rules and regulations in every aspect of your life...the constant reminder to do more...the reasons they give are always lies as to what is happening in the WTS...the fighting between congregation members...no reading of any other source other than the WTS material...and on and on.

Handing in '' Field Service Report '' even if you're very ill.
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy mom has not been to any meetings or participated in field service since august 2013. she cannot walk due to all her medical conditions.
she is either in bed or sitting in a wheel chair.. our family hired a caretaker monday - friday to help her eat, take her to the bathroom and sit with her in case she needs anything.
in the evenings and weekends, we have family members take care of her.

So this focus on numbers makes good people stoop to lying...yes going contrary to their own moral code just to fulfil a stupid demand from the elders!
I would say that many witnesses lie about their time, then try hard to reconcile these lies with their Christian conscience!
I agree 100%. They put the fear in everyone so that there are no excuses even if you are sick and infirm.
There is no way my mom ( who can't even hold a fork in her hand and feed herself ) picked up a heavy phone book and turned the pages to find names. She can't even hold a phone to dial. Someone has to hold the phone for her. There was no way she even dialed the phone numbers. Claiming she even did 1 hour of phone service is far fetched. Most people hang up within a minute. That would take numerous phone calls to add up to one hour. ( I don't blame her for faking the numbers. )
The Elders probably know that the one hour is fake . They will accept any number just to fill in the publisher record.

It gets me upset that ( if my mom really did telephone witness for one hour ) she would need to get a phone book, take the time to call and select a subject to talk about. She gets out of breath easily and her voice is getting raspy. She doesn't need to fear the Elders if she didn't hand in a Field Service Report.
Don't they see her medical condition when they pay her a visit? Does my mom really need to get in at least 15 minutes to be considered part of the congregation? After serving the WTBTS for over 45 years, is this the love they show her if she didn't witness for at least 15 minutes and consider her an "Inactive publisher"?
The WTBTS should really say that they bully and threaten ...." those who are very limited because of advanced age or because of being shut-ins and those who are temporarily limited because of serious illness or injury ''

No! Her hands shake and needs someone to cut up her food and feed her. She is sharp as a tack mentally. I remember talking her to all her Doctor appointments and she would leave Watchtower and Awake Magazines in the waiting room. That was her way of placing magazines for the month.

Our family hired a caretaker Monday - Friday to help her eat, take her to the bathroom and sit with her in case she needs anything. In the evenings and weekends, we have family members take care of her. The prognosis for her to ever walk on her own is very slim.
I walk in her room last week and she is talking on the phone to an Elder in her congregation. ( They call and visit all the time ) She tells him how she listens to all of the meetings on the phone and wishes that one day she can walk and attend the meetings in person.
The Elder proceeds to ask her if she has her ''Field Service Report'' for the month. My mom responds with .......''1 hour telephone service.''
Are they serious? Does the WTBTS really need to stoop so low that they make members that are sick and homebound to hand in a Field Service Report? And what if she doesn't hand one in for the month or months at a time? Would they really label her as an "Irregular publisher"?

If I asked for a loan from the WBTS would they give it to me?
by objectivetruth inif this were the "organization" that jesus chose in 1914.. err 1919, wouldn't the principles that he laid out while on earth apply to this organization as well?.
matthew 5:42 "give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.".
so if jw's all asked for loans from the org, every now and then, it would be the orgs responsibility to grant those loans (interest free).

In the 41 years I was a Jehovah's Witnesses, I purchased books, magazines, donated money, paid for gas for service and getting to every meeting. I also cleaned my local Kingdom Hall and cleaned at Circuit Assemblies. I purchased chairs ( that we paid for ) when our hall was remodeled.
What did the WTBTS give me in return? NOTHING!

If you asked for a loan from the Vatican would they give it to you?.....awatcher
As a matter of fact, yes they do! There are Missions that provide food, shelter and clothing. They help people with rent and provide food banks. They provide clothing for people that have no shelter due to a fire or lost their house due to financial problems.
My mother-in-law lives in a senior complex where Catholic Charities pays for most of the rent since she has a very limited income. They have vans transport them to places for no fee.
I had an employee of mine lose his home due to foreclosure. Catholic Charities found him an apartment and paid for it until he got back on his feet.
In the 41 years I attended the Kingdom Hall, not once did I see a soup kitchen, clothes provided or any money handed to brothers or sisters due to financial hardship. No donations were ever taken up for any cause unless it was for brothers who were in a disaster. Who knows how much of that was sent? Who knows what they do with all the money?
Where is the donation box in the back of every Kingdom Hall that goes for food, clothing or shelter? Every box goes to the WTBTS!

If the bride is emotionally attached to various family members who are witnesses and feel they cannot attend a reception with a disfellowshipped person there, then some creative compromise is in order.
Could the family come and stay a while - lets say an hour and then leave? Then the cousin and his guest could come and enjoy the dancing and cutting of the cake etc...
My disfellowshipped cousin was not invited to his sister's wedding reception dinner( she and her husband are witnesses ) but came around 10:00 p.m. when dinner was over and stayed until reception was over. But in Jehovah's Witness land and different Kingdom Halls all over the world things change from moment to moment.
I would like to ask any former Elders if this would be a good idea?

Would your Witness relatives walk out of a restaurant and abandon their meal if a D/F'd person walked in? YES
My cousin was told by the Elders that it would be best if he would not attend the luncheon that was prepared after his own mother was buried. I was standing right next to him when they asked him to leave. His own grandfather told him that if he didn't leave many of the Witnesses would leave. So, he left with his girlfriend and went home. I was so upset that I went out to eat somewhere else instead of staying. I invited my cousin to come but he refused.
